He has taught undergrads and graduate students alike, as well as both medical and pharmaceutical residents, lectured at conferences, and aided different programs that prepare young people for their careers as physicians.

However, throughout Doctor Kayode Sotonwa’s very fulfilling career as both a practicing physician and a teacher, he has not lost his love of research and additionally has spent a great deal of his career participating in a number of different research programs and projects to help further the world of medicine. From 2004 to 2007 Doctor Sotonwa was a member of the Bay Pines VAMC Research and Development Committee. Here he was in charge of ensuring that members of the team were performing the proper quality of research and ensure that they were following government research protocol as well.
